Senate Approves Brazil-UAE Visa Waiver Agreement

Written by | Migration Law

On 30 November 2017, the Brazilian Senate approved the bilateral visa waiver agreement between Brazil and UAE signed on 7 March 2017 on tourism trips, business trips or in transit to other destinations. The Congress’ decision was published on 5 December 2017.

Emirati holders of ordinary passports will be allowed to enter Brazil without a visa with maximum length of stay of 90 days during a 12-month period.

The Brazilian President still needs to issue an Executive Decree before the agreement becomes binding in Brazil.

It is hoped that the agreement will encourage tourism and trade between the two countries.
