The Brazilian government is seeking submissions from interested private parties and civil society on whether it should join the WTO’s Agreement on Public Procurement (known as the “GPA”).
The GPA aims to facilitate international competition in public procurement by providing open, fair and transparent conditions of competition.
This is yet another step by the Bolsonaro government towards making Brazil more open to international trade and exposing Brazilian companies to foreign competition.
The deadline for the submissions is 20 October 2020.
